I’ve learned that experiments with new technology are an essential part of my process. Recently my work in application development has found it’s way back to the paintings. Augmented reality is a relatively new development, and it is very exciting to see all the possible applications, both practical and artistic. This is an experiment to show the viewer a bit more of the painter’s perspective, ‘pulling’ the major three dimensional shapes out of the canvas and showing the observer of the painting how I’m perceiving them as I work.
